This is the official release date for my new full-length album, "Something to Live For!" In preparation for this day, I will be releasing a song each day between now and then for you to listen to on my bandcamp site (http://samheilig.bandcamp.com/)... so go there and check it out!

After a flurry donations over the last couple of days, we have raised the ENTIRE $5,000 on Kickstarter!!! Thank you so much. You have helped make my dreams come true, and you will help put the Gospel in the form of music in the hands of tons of high school students this summer. If you are a backer, stay tuned for an email asking you for your address, email address, shirt size, etc. Also, stay tuned for updates on the recording process. I will be posting them as they come along! As of right now, the plan is to start the pre-production stuff next week.

                Some very cool doors have been opened up recently, so I wanted to let you in on the latest news. In about two months, starting in early May, I will be recording my first ever full length album! As of right now, the plan is to remix and remaster the songs from “Between Here and Home,” and then record five or six brand new songs to go with it. All ten or eleven of those tracks will then go on a full length album to be released this summer. My hope is to have it released by the time I go to play at Sharp Top Cove (a Young Life camp) in July. There, I will be playing for about 400 or 500 high school students each week. I would love for them to be able to take this new CD home with them when they leave camp.

                I am messaging you to let you know that you have a chance to be a part of making this album happen. The full cost of the record will be around $6,000. As a college student, that is about $6,000 more dollars than I have, so… I am starting a campaign on a website called Kickstarter. This website allows you to make donations of any size, big or small, towards the funding of my album. For each donation, depending on the amount given, you will get something really cool in return. For instance, if you donate $10, then you can get a download of the album two weeks in advance. For $25, you can get a signed physical copy of the album mailed to you before it is released to anyone else. As the dollar amount gets higher, the rewards get better and better. You could get a t-shirt, a set of handwritten lyrics, or even a private concert in the comfort of your own home. My goal is to raise $5,000 through this website by May 1, 2011. However, the way the site works is that if I don’t raise the entire goal amount by that target date, then I won’t get a dime and the album won’t happen. Please help me in making this happen.                 I have been so blessed to have all of you as fans. There would be no reason for me to play music if I didn’t have amazing people like you who enjoyed it and wanted to listen to it. It's now 12:30 in the morning and I'm working on designing this new website. I decided that simplicity was the best way to go with this thing, and so I'm starting from scratch and making a new one. Please bear with me as I try to design the coolest, easiest to navigate webpage you have ever seen.
